"The passivity that used to characterize Bonnie was her primary coping mechanism, a means to deal with loss while saving herself from more pain. She was often a victim of circumstances that were well beyond her control, and had experienced, time and again, being abandoned by the people she grew attached to. Rather than grow resentful, however, she learned to “accept” the situation and give up rather than make any effort at making things better for herself. In essence, she became afraid to try, and – by extension – afraid to grow. Coming back in contact with her parents and also witnessing the struggles of a kindred soul in Vincenzo Profaci eventually pushed her out of her shell.

At present, Bonnie is an incredibly driven person who defines every aspect of herself in her role as a Keeper of the Vigil and a member of the Soledad Family. She has no desire to be helpless, and applies herself with fervor to all of her duties in order to ensure that she can, inasmuch as she can, be the master of her own fate."
